Making Disciples pairs confirmands with adult mentors and guides them through a variety of learning experiences that will strengthen the student's understanding of the faith while connecting him or her with the community of believers in a personal way. Topics covered include: God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, Worship, The Bible, Saints and Gifts, Ministry, Baptism, Spiritual Life , Death and Resurrection, Life in the Church, and The Faith Journey Continues.
The Mentor's Guide includes exercises similar to those in the Confirmand's Journal, so that mentors will also grow in their faith as they act as a companion and role model through the confirmation process. Questions for reflection and activities can be worked on separately and then shared between mentor and confirmand.
To undergird the need for mentor support, a video has been prepared to accompany this course. The video provides an introduction to each session as well as helpful information about the challenges and questions mentors and students will likely bring to each session topic. We recommend a video for each mentor to help with preparation for each session. Videos can be reused by mentors in following years.
Each session focuses on a particular topic and includes several activities for confirmands and mentors to do together.
