All who are led by God’s Spirit are God’s sons and daughters. 15 You didn’t receive a spirit of slavery to lead you back again into fear, but you received a Spirit that shows you are adopted as his children. With this Spirit, we cry, “ Abba, Father. ” 16 The same Spirit agrees with our spirit, that we are God’s children. 17 But if we are children, we are also heirs. We are God’s heirs and fellow heirs with Christ, if we really suffer with him so that we can also be glorified with him.
The intention of this play is to help participants get "inside" the Easter story and experience it the way people may have often done with the Christmas story. It has been done effectively in sanctuaries as the sermon on the Second Sunday of Easter. This timing enhances the celebration of The Great 50 Days of Easter, and if the local schools are on Spring Break during Holy Week and Easter weekend (and some families are therefore away) may enable people to be involved who may have missed those liturgies in their home church. The play is designed to be intergenerational. It can be performed by cast members with scripts in hand if need be. The music includes the congregation singing.
The cast consists of 10 persons. The length of this presentation is 30 minutes and the intended age level is youth and adults. The purchase price includes full rights to reproduce material for everyone in the presentation.
Skiturgies is a collection of dramas, pageants and other church programs. There are pieces for Advent/Christmas, Lent/Easter, After Pentecost, and general times throughout the year. Skiturgies pieces are downloadable. The purchase price includes full right to reproduce material for everyone involved in the presentation.
