Children's Curriculum from Other Publishers

Cokesbury has a long history of serving United Methodists along with an array of other denominational and independent churches, leaders, and members. We regularly review our offerings for children and recently worked to gain a better understanding about the number of requests we routinely hear for curriculum developed by publishers other than Cokesbury. Based on what we learned directly from churches, we announced our plan to continue offering a limited selection of children's curriculum resources from publishers other than Cokesbury alongside Cokesbury curriculum. In this webinar, you'll learn more about these offerings. This webinar will also include a quick overview of Cokesbury curriculum approved by the Curriculum Resources Committee (CRC) of The United Methodist General Board of Discipleship for use in the Christian education ministry of The United Methodist Church.

Tweens Choosing Faith

Tweens are beginning to ask questions about faith. Help them gain a better understanding of the Bible, meet Jesus on a personal level, and have a safe place in which to ask personal questions about faith. These resources bridge the step from the tween’s acceptance of the faith of their parents to developing a faith of their own. And learn ways to give tweens the vocabulary and understanding to express their faith.

Claim the Life

This workshop will introduce you to this multi-faceted resource for the spiritual formation of youth, but more importantly, it will address key questions asked about youth Sunday school:

* What should our youth know? and
* Why do we keep losing our older youth?

In addition, it will give you a passion for the possibilities of teaching youth in Sunday school:
helping youth  experience Christian community;
  • develop the words and concepts that will enable them to grow in faith and express it to others;
  • apply their learnings to their life;
  • be supported in their discipleship;
  • stay in love with God; and
  • claim the life of a follower of Jesus Christ.

What’s in the Bible (and Why Should I Care?)

Are you looking for a wonderful way to engage newcomers to your church in a small group setting? Maybe your church includes new Christians and those who have little or no familiarity with Scripture. In this webinar, Elizabeth Gay shares ways to help newcomers to your congregation feel a sense of belonging and move toward feeling fully accepted in your church community. What’s in the Bible and Why Should I Care? is a series of Bible studies that give you three effective strategies for engaging newcomers including:

  • providing a chance for your newcomers to have direct engagement with Scripture;
  • demonstrating sensitivity to your newcomers and your awareness of who they are and what needs they have; and
  • helping them become more involved in the life of faith.

Live B.I.G.

Bible stories are timeless. Like a child's favorite book, they are repeated over and over again as they are passed from older children to younger children so that they too will come to know and cherish them and continue to pass them on.

And now, you can share the stories of God's love for us with the newest group of children in your Sunday school through Live B.I.G., a curriculum series that has been helping churches transform their Sunday schools. This webinar will introduce you to the innovative curriculum that will excite their imagination and bring them back again and again as the teachings of the Bible come to life in the classroom.
